    Dear Nicolas,
at first a lot of thanks and my respect for your amazing gallery. At second my excuses for two things: my bad english and my perhaps not so intelligent question:
I tryed to use the gallery (ies) in some different swf’s on some different pages of one site. Because of the script, js, xml etc. – folders in the data- tree it seems not possible to give every gallery theyre separate data (five swf’s – always the same pictures :) ) So I sit there for hours with a cookie in my head getting bigger and bigger, with the “mystical” feeling, that it must be very easy, and I’m the onliest person in the galaxy, who can’t find the solution…
    Can You help?
Regards and best whiches to You

    Lucas

    • Nicolas Prof says:

You should generate XML or keep them dynamic.
Provide for the gallery smart link for generation, lets say: gallery.swf?pathConfig=/configGenerator.php?sectionNum=2

    Excellent!!! Thanks! :)

  3. Mark says:

Hi. Congrats for the script – works marvellously :)

I have a question – can I link to various config.xml files programmatically?

Basically, I need to be able to link a page with a number of albums, and another page with a DIFFERENT set of albums. But I don’t want the two different pages to show each other’s albums.

    Thanks & regards,

    Mark

    • Nicolas Prof says:

You can. Provide link on config.xml as link on dynamic script (/php/myConfigGenerator.php) also in template you can add some extra variables (/php/myConfigGenerator.php?galleryIndex=25)

    if(–_thumbs.curScroll _maxScroll) {

Why does thiw happens? Can you help me out?

    Hello!

I love the script! It is perfect, but one thing I cannot figure out.
How can I change the encoding to display estonian characters (????)?

It is utf-8, but in the descriptions it does not work.

  8. Paul Alford says:

I just downloaded the gallery and think it may work for me, but is there a way to make the whole gallery bigger. I have images 600×480 and want the thumbnails on the side of that so I need the background to be even bigger and cant figure it out.

    Thanks

    Paul

    • Nicolas Prof says:

Change dimensions for viewer in config.xml and for flash at page. In example (index.html) gallery has 600px width and 380px height.
Background is simple picture, you can use any that fits your desired gallery size. Link on background also can be found in config.xml.

When I downloaded the files and loaded the .fla into Flash cs5 the images did not show up when I ctrl+enter to preview.. even when I try preview the HTML immediately after downloading I still cannot see the images.. Flash gives me this error code: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.

Thank you a lot Nicolas for this amazing photo gallery… One more request; I don’t want any transition effect between images, only fade in/out! How I can do it?!

    Thank you again!

    • Nicolas Prof says:

Its very simple. In config.xml in effects section. Set effects.type = “fade” and config fade transition with time.
      (Ex.: <fade time="0.8"/>)

  12. nikko says:

how do i display the tooltip with the image by default? i dont want to do a mouse over on the image before the tooltip appears. hope someone can answer me as that’s the only problem i got before i implement th gallery on my site.

    thanks vmuch.

    • Nicolas Prof says:

If you want caption for thumbnails. First of all you should disable Tooltip in Config.xml.
You need rewrite a bit Thumbnail Class, and use some % of height to add caption. Thumbnail Class has access to data, so you can reach “title” tag. In Thumbnail Class rewrite initiate method and add Textfield for caption.
